Well, Mom's answer tells me there is another father listed that I didn't think of or realize was the father of 2 of the 12. So there are 2 correct answers. Extra credit if you get both fathers and who their sons were.
The answer I was looking for was Zebedee, the father of James and John (“sons of Thunder”). I forgot about another pair of true brothers: Peter and Andrew, but their father is not named. mom also pointed out that Alphaeus appears to be the father of the other Apostle James ( called James the lesser - not the Apostle usually named w Peter and John. )
Matthew 10:1-4
Matt 10:1 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every infirmity. 2 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zeb'edee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphae'us, and Thaddae'us; 4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
